Is my data actually private?

Yes. FileClipSync has no servers. Items are encrypted on-device with AES-256-GCM before they sync, and only your paired devices hold the keys. On Apple devices, cloud relay uses your own private iCloud database.

Does it need an internet connection?

No. On the same Wi-Fi, devices sync directly over Multipeer Connectivity in under a tenth of a second. The encrypted iCloud relay only kicks in when your devices are apart.

Do I need the iPhone app?

Not at all - the Mac app is fully useful on its own. The iPhone companion is included free through Universal Purchase whenever you want clipboard and file handoff.

Does it work with Android, Windows, or Linux?

Yes - companion clients connect over your local network (same Wi-Fi), with the same end-to-end encryption and no servers in between. Automatic discovery and the encrypted iCloud relay are Apple-only, so non-Apple devices sync while they share your network.

Which Macs get the notch features?

Any MacBook with a notch gets the notch shelf. On every other Mac, the same shelf appears via cursor shake and screen-edge anchor - no notch required.
